The Jerusalem Municipal Sports Authority in conjunction with the Israeli Neviot League Bicycle Association of Israel will hold the Second Jerusalem Mountain Bike Marathon on Friday, June 6th, 2008.
The Marathon will traverse the mountains of Jerusalem, its beautiful scenery, the tourist spot at the Kennedy Monument, Hirbat Sa’adim, and The Valley of Laban on a trail that will also be challenging and mountainous with plenty of steep inclines.
Israel’s foremost championship bikers will compete in the event.
The Second Jerusalem Marathon will be the final event in the celebration of 40 years of Jerusalem’s unification.
In light of a great revival of interest in biking in Jerusalem, between 700-900 cyclists, including soldiers, students from abroad, and professional as well as amateur bikers are expected to take part.
The Second Jerusalem Marathon will be divided into Two Heats
Competitive Heats:
: Three trails will be included:
Short Marathon – One Round – 27.5 km
Mini Marathon – Two Rounds – 55 km
Long Marathon – Three Rounds – 82.5 km
Popular Trail:
The popular trail open to all the cyclists and their families will be divided into two principal trails:
7 km.
27.5 km.
Registration for this heat does not require a stress test or membership in the Association. The race is open to any cyclist who wishes to take part in the happening and ride the marked trail that passes through stunning Jerusalem tourist spots and scenery.
