Tourists and visitors to Tel Aviv-Jaffa can now enjoy the sights and
tastes of Israel’s freshest foods at the Farmers Markets that take place every
Friday in the Tel Aviv Port and in the Jaffa Port. And, to complete the experience, tourists can
cycle along the boardwalk from the Tel Aviv Port in the north of the city to
the Jaffa Port in the south, using one of the rental bikes that can be found at
the many Tel-O-Fun rental locations throughout the city.
The Farmers Market in the renovated Jaffa Port, which will open to the
public for the first time on 21 December, is made up of stalls selling
vegetables, fruits, cheeses, flowers, oils, baked goods and much more – all in
keeping with the season and sold directly from the farmers and producers. The
market, which operates from 09:00 to 14:00 every Friday, is located in the
eastern section of the Jaffa Market at the Port, in the center of the renovated
Hangar 1.
The Farmers Market at the Tel Aviv Port, which is open every Friday
from 07:00 to 15:00, sells a similar selection of fresh produce, including
organic fruits and vegetables. For tourists who are not in the city on a Friday,
there is also the opportunity to visit the indoor Port Market at Hangar 12, with
its wide range of gourmet and fresh Israeli produce. Here there is also the
opportunity to relax over a coffee, eat in the restaurant or at one of the
stands offering tastings. The Port Market is open daily (except Sundays) from
08:00 to 20:00.
