In a recent statement, the Tel Aviv-Jaffa
Municipality announced that free WIFI services for tourists, visitors and
residents will soon be available in public areas throughout the city, in a
unique NIS 6 million project – this in one of Israel’s most-visited cities that
was recently voted by the Wall Street Journal as one of three most innovative
cities in the world.
About 80 sites around the city will provide free
surfing on a minimum 20 MB bandwidth. These sites, carefully selected
throughout the city, include, among others: the boardwalk, the main boulevards in the
city, Florentin Street, Hatikvah market, public parks and gardens in the north
and south of the city, the Herbert Samuel Promenade, Old Jaffa, Ibn Gvirol
Street and more. In addition to the free WIFI, surfers will be able to contact
a dedicated technical support team that will operate 24/7.
