Highlights of the feast
Mount Tabor - The Greek Orthodox Church is located on the mountain top. The unique experience associated with this feast is the all-night vigil on Mount Tabor. Arab Christians camp in the woods surrounding the church and spend the night there, while the Divine Liturgy is celebrated throughout the night in and outside the church. On the 19th, the feast is celebrated in a Divine Liturgy held in the church. In honor of the occasion, some pilgrims choose to ascend the mountain on foot.
