The Negev and the Judean Wilderness

A new beginning in the desert, and the faith to make it happen: that is what God required of the Israelites.

A new beginning in the desert, and the faith to make it happen: that is what God required of the Israelites. It is what you, too, can find in the Negev and the Judean Wilderness.

John the Baptist was “a voice of one calling in the desert...” (Mark 1:3). Jesus was “led by the Spirit into the desert” (Matt. 4:1). The desert is purity, the place of ultimate quiet to hear the “still small voice” (I Kings 19:12).

This is the experience that awaits you a short drive from Jerusalem, and a world away. You’ll walk in the footsteps of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs at Beersheba. You’ll see cliff-hanging monasteries built by early Christians, and visit the cities they eventually built – Avdat, Shivta and Mamshit. Traverse the Wilderness of Zin, where the Children of Israel thirsted and God gave them water. Rest in the coolness of a desert spring, and in a place of biblical beginnings, make one of your own.
