Tishbi Estate Winery
The winery was established in 1985 and it produces approximately 1,000,000 bottles annually. The winery is also known by its previous name, The Baron Wineries, named after Baron Edmond de Rothschild, and now carries the family name of the winery owners. The grapes come from wineries in the Ramot Naftali region in the Upper Galilee, the Judean Hills region, the Negev region and the foot of Mount Tabor. The wines are made from the Sauvignon Blanc, French Colombard, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Viognier, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir varieties. The winery’s visitor center has a view of the Ahuza Tishbi vineyards and it preserves a unique rural atmosphere. There is a wine store on site with wines from the winery, wine accessories, a chocolate tasting center, homemade wine jellies (jams), olive oil, a range of gourmet cheeses from Jacob’s Dairy, ceramic creations and a range of additional products. Alongside the store, beneath the young vine branches, there is a rustic dairy restaurant (kosher) suitable for groups of up to 100 visitors for breakfast or lunch. The guided tours (in Hebrew and English) which leave from the visitor center, include the winery installations, the only authentic brandy distiller of its kind in the Middle East, and a visit to the chocolate and wine center where visitors can enjoy tasting wine and Valrhona chocolates. All activities are for individuals and groups. The winery does not organize activities in the vineyards.
